Personal Experience

In 2009, Stephen Burgin retired from partnership with Latham & Watkins LLP, and joined Reed & Reed, APC as of counsel. Mr. Burgin is an expert in estate planning, exempt organizations and charitable planning, and trust and probate matters.


Mr. Burgin published articles for the UCLA Law Review and Practicing Law Institute. Mr. Burgin lectured on estate planning, charitable giving and personal tax matters under the auspices of private businesses and charitable organizations, including the Practicing Law Institute, the Wilshire Estate Planning Council, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Century City Bar Association, the Los Angeles Red Cross, the Los Angeles Cancer Society, Southern California Presbyterian Homes and the University of California at Los Angeles.


Mr. Burgin is a former member and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Deferred Giving Committee of the Los Angeles Red Cross and a former member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Deferred Giving and Making Strides Committees of the Los Angeles Cancer Society.
